Michael Joseph Jackson (Gary, Indiana, 29 de agosto de 1958), conhecido simplesmente como Michael Jackson, é um músico norte-americano, atuante como cantor, compositor, produtor, diretor, dançarino e instrumentista que começou a carreira aos 5 anos de idade como líder vocal do grupo Jackson 5. Se lançou em carreira solo no início dos Anos 70, ainda pela Motown, gravadora responsável pelo sucesso do grupo formado por ele e os irmãos. Em idade adulta, gravou o álbum mais vendido da história, Thriller; acumulou recordes e prêmios; e colocou um total de 20 canções no topo das paradas de sucesso.Nos anos 80, foi o criador de um estilo totalmente novo de dança, utilizando especialmente os pés. Nos anos 90 se envolveu em escândalos de pedofilia e abuso sexual. Por isso, interrompeu a carreira em duas ocasiões: em 1993 e em 2003, quando foi indiciado por sete crimes, julgado e inocentado perante júri popular.
